The Town of Lysander, Town of Van Buren, and Village of Baldwinsville are currently working on a Joint Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP), a collaborative effort focused on strengthening waterfront resources, improving resilience to flooding, and enhancing public access and recreational opportunities.

The LWRP is a locally prepared, comprehensive land and water use program focused on the community’s designated inland waterways, including the Seneca River and Oswego River. The LWRP will also include a Harbor Management Plan to help guide and manage water-dependent uses.

  • Authorized by the New York State Coastal Management Program
  • Reflects a shared community vision shaped by public input
  • Balances natural resource protection with waterfront economic development
  • Ensures that future projects within the coastal area are consistent with local policies, promoting sustainable use and preventing resource impairment.
